Thanks for the Star Tree info, Kerri. Another great place to serve is the USO branch at your local airport. They can always use a willing worker.

Thanks for the reminder. I marrried a Navy guy and know a little bit about separation from loved ones although I never sent him off to war.

It takes someone of great resilence and dedication to serve our country...how often we forget.

I hope this reminder continues around the internet as a reminder that our freedom is never free.

I have seen this several times and it always stops me in my tracks. There are so many things that we take for granted. God bless our soldiers!

On another note, our local veteran's hospital has a 'Star Tree' in their lobby. These stars are labeled with items the vets have requested for the holidays. I am amazed at the simple items they need: socks, sweat pants, a music CD, disposable razors...

Please check with your local vets facility to see if they participate in this program. It is an easy and inexpensive way we can all give back a little bit!

Thanks Sherra for your reminders this week and give your soldiers a big hug and a thank you from me!
