		<description>Nice post, Sherra! I say its and it&#039;s aloud too. I have noticed an increased use of apostrophes over the last years thus it also has become one of my pet peeves. I&#039;m not sure, but it&#039;s almost like people think they are being grammatically correct to put that little mark in every word. Most of the time it is a PLURAL and you do NOT need an apostrophe!
I have a theory on why we see this mistake in the younger generation. For a period of time there was a not an emphasis on grammar in isolation in the elem grades. I taught during these years--I still tried to teach grammar basics--many teachers did not. Not sure what the excuse is for middle age and older. 
Sherra-Curious if your daughter brings home grammar worksheets from school now?</description>
