[...] To quote myself… The cleaning and fumigating and throwing away and sweeping and mopping and sorting and disinfecting and organizing, etc., took us many weekends. I’ll save pictures of that for another day. [...]

Peggy--You get "Most Flexible Mother of the Year" in my book of allowing the revolving door of coming back home, leaving, coming back again. I'm stressing just thinking about that. I don't want to quickly convert space so they can come back. Whenever the threats of "I'm moving out" start…we just loudly repeat that if they move out they need to make sure it's for good!! Welcomed here until they can make it on their own and only if they are in school fulltime…then they have to pay rent to us or go experience their new found "being an adult is so much fun" freedom!!

Julieann--I absolutely agree! We look forward to downsizing and though parts of it are very melancholy since this the house we have always lived in since The Grunter was 18 months old, it will be a milestone for all of us. But I also know we're moving into a new stage of life and I would love, love, love everything about my life to be more simple and uncluttered!

Melinda--I thought ALL twins slept together? Are you saying this isn't true? The Grunter is getting a little grief from that post. He told me last night that some of his friends read the blog and saw those pictures. Ahhh, the power of the blog. ;)

Terry--Always the most popular girl I know and I'm sure that has carried through to the most popular mom category as well. I think "HORROR" stories is a little strong word choice for moving some things around when college kids leave for NINE months. Perhaps that is an "only" child thing as they don't have to share a room and in your case, your child has TWO rooms. LOL!

Andrea--Sounds like you are very adaptable in spite of the fact that I might have had to wrestle my little sister to get my room back if she had taken over mine when I left. No need though, my dad turned my room into an office and I had to sleep in my brother's room since he had left for the Air Force when I came home from college which was even weirder!

Gayle--I'm late (as usual) and your comment was actually hiding in my spam folder?! I know you're not a mean mom but I do love the idea of moving to a new house (and state!) so I can create a guest room and lounge! :)

When Ellie moved out I turned her room into my craft room but- she moved back home, without much notice. So now- my stuff and her stuff are all mixed up together in there and it looks like we could be on an episode of "Horders". She's moving out again in Aug. so I will be reclaiming the space but this time in a fashion that when she returns I can quickly convert it back into her space.

We let the child still at home pick among the items left behind by the other two who had the opportunity to take any and every thing they wanted. He moved the best bed into his room, so we do have one complete room and one "mattress on the floor" room. We are planning a downsize within the next year and will be cutting a bedroom and square footage and any "treasures" not claimed are fair game. It seems sad but, just like the twins' life moved beyond the family borders, the family moves forward, too. Sometimes it's too sad to leave things exactly as they were when life isn't as it was any longer. It's part of everyone growing up.

Hm.. I should have thought of that, Terry. I am a scrapbooker but since one daughte was home every weekend, we never had a chance to do anything in there. Good thing since she's moved back home for the next year at least (we wonder if she's ever gonna move out). the other daughter was in the basement already and her father would have NEVER allowed me to do away with it. He's told his girls they can come home forever as long as they don't bring any "luggage" with them! LOL (and yes, I have twin daughters the same age as Sherra's so reading her posts are extremely funny to me). I've NEVER caught them in a twin bed together though and certainly not with their little brother!!
