The Firsts…

Just because I wrote about recognizing the significance of “The Last Times”
I didn’t mean to imply that “The Firsts” are any less significant.

Or blog worthy.

It’s all important stuff - this job of raising human beings.

Yesterday My Pumpkin a.k.a. The Grunter had a significant FIRST.

He took a ride with me about a mile and half down the road.

Remember all the stickers the doctor, dentist and teachers gave your kids?

Yesterday he got The Most Important Sticker…

Mama and “Pop” (as he refers to PhilBillPaul) are proud to add another voter to this great country.

And we’re feeling old…

OMG…I am so proud of the Grunter! What a fine young man you have raised. I love him like my own. :)

Our oldest voted for the first time this election too, she barely made the age cutoff… Go USA!

@Ann: Thanks and any time you want to borrow him, you know you can!

@Peggy: Hope she was sporting her sticker all day - definitely a milestone!!

My oldest could vote in this election, too, though I think she proves that there should be a “test” you pass to be allowed to vote. Since she is attending an out-of-state college she had to vote by absentee ballot (which Mom graciously provided for her). When asked if she had returned her ballot she informed me that she had taken it to a local voting precinct and dropped it off. Don’t exactly know how GA was supposed to tabulate a CA ballot…And this child is on scholarship, too! Guess she’s what my family always called “book smart with no common sense!”

Today's Deep Thought

  • I wish scientists would come up with a way to make dogs a lot bigger, but with a smaller head. That way, they'd still be good as watchdogs, but they wouldn't eat so much.
