@julieann: I'll check on the nail polish coordination but I think that was a fluke even though I noticed too! She will love the Harry Potter reference. Scary Baby carried around her "lovey" which was a silky blanket. You've now uncovered a 3rd kind of "snuggie" as I was referring to another kind ;)

@Peggy: Oh the stories that are not blog-appropriate to tell about The Grunter and the snuggies you are referring to. Remind me to tell you some day…lol.

@Karen Emerson: Goodness you just made me totally remember that I had the exact same thing in the 80's!! And just as I typed this I remembered what it was called…a SNUG SACK!!! I'm cracking up about that and like you, I loved mine too. It was much heavier than this new "Snuggie" much more like a sleeping bag that you snapped to make the arms. Thanks for that trip down memory lane!!

I've seen the ads.. it reminded me of the version I had in the 80s.... a quilted sleeping bag that converted into a "Snuggie" with cleverly placed snaps to create arms. I loved that thing! I'd walk around the house in it too! :-)

When The Grunter said that he wanted a Snuggie I would have immediately given him the old fashioned kind- in the hyper-wedgie form!

Oh, and I wouldn't say Scary Baby looks like a monk; more like an extra on the new "Harry Potter" movie set! Wonder whose "love interest" she'd be?

She must really love her Snuggie to coordinate the nail polish to match (scroll back for the details to those who missed it). A snuggie in "the day" was usually a baby blanket that a child carried around to feel secure. Usually the type of thing you wanted to discard by the time you entered kindergarten (or if you hadn't, that you hid when friends came over). Of course my college freshman still had hers when she was packing the boxes to head off to college this summer, so who knows...maybe those Snuggie folks are onto something. (Please don't tell "Belated Hippie," my freshman, that I ratted on her.)
