@Joanne: The visual on the purple teletubby made me giggle. Hope you got pictures of that!

@julieann: He’s really not that much fun – we let the big kids hand out candy and we went out to dinner.

@Kerri: Love that costume idea – PhilBillPaul on his motorcycle would really be the finishing touch.

@Tammy: I remember the screaming haunted house days and I’m way too old and grouchy for that adrenaline rush!

@Rhonda: My personal no-fun Halloween rules since the very early days. NO changing your mind after you pick your costume. I am seriously that MEAN!!

We have gone through several costume ideas since last month and I am glad it is all over. We headed down to the town south of us for soup with friends and then the men took the kids out trick or treating. Just a very relaxing evening.

Since today is my youngest daughter’s 14th birthday Halloween is always a great day. This year her dad is taking her and two of her friends to a haunted house. As I am a big scaredy cat I will not be joining them. I am assuming that they are going to scream ear drum bursting bellows and maybe even wet their pants. All in all, it should be a great night! Hope you and your gang stay safe!

One of the best costumes I ever saw on a guy was this:

He was wearing jeans and a casual jacket with Barbies tied all over it.

He was a ‘chick magnet’.

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought this was hilarious!

Frankly I think the motorcycle gear IS PhilBillPaul’s costume. Put on a little of George Thoroughgood’s “Born to be Bad” (being careful to keep the visor down to cover that nasty scar) and let him pass out candy to the neighborhood kiddies.

I think the weiner dogs are great. My kids are going as Snow White and Darth Maul. I was going as the witch from Snow White but I have bronchitis. I’m going nowhere. My husband is going as a Dalmation. One year he and one of the kids as a baby were dalmations and I was Cruella. Last year we were all The Incredibles. Really it’s the only two times we did the family costume thing. My 7 year old son and I usually are the ones who want to be different. One year my husband was Tinky Winky – Imagine a 220 pound purple teletubby with a goatee showing up at your door!

We still get together at my mom’s house for all the festivities because it’s also my nephew’s birthday. He’s 12 this year. I had him convinced for years that people handed out candy and dressed up just for his birthday. Now he expects real gifts.
