Flexible Friday #10 Random Thoughts

I’m very random and today is no exception. I have many things I could tell you but for now I just need to share that I usually write my Friday post on Thursday night.
Side note: A little dream I have is to get posts ready a month in advance but reality usually trumps my little dreams.
Tonight my reality forced encouraged me to take medication. It’s a Xanax night because the Valium just wasn’t working.
Next week I’ll tell you why I took the Xanax. It’s a doozey but worth saving for when I can type complete sentences without being in a medicated haze.
Instead, I thought I’d just share these random thoughts…
Is there really only ONE person reading my blog who felt compelled to give a shout out to a girlfriend who makes their world a better place? I thought that was sad. Sad for the girlfriends who would appreciate a public shout out.
And really sad for the state of my blog readership. Should I stop blogging or is that just the Xanax? Does Xanax make you sad? Or paranoid? Or both? Could someone get back to me on that? Or I guess I should ask my doctor.
But a big thank you to Joanne who left a very nice comment to send thanks out to her friend Chayna.
For those of you who have a good memory, Joanne also won
Wife of the Year. Now I think she’s in the running for Friend of the Year.
Okay, maybe you all sent your girlfriends personal, handwritten notes?
This Xanax seems to make me ask a lot of questions.
I sign off now but had to leave you with this cartoon that I saw tonight that made me giggle.
Come on, tell me who hasn’t gone into a fast food restaurant while on a road trip and used their bathroom and then felt guilty about it?
True confessions time. Last question I swear.
Did you buy something out of guilt before you left?
I’ll go first.
Yes, I have. More than once.

Oh yes, I have bought things out of guilt many times.
My bladder seems to know when I can and can not make it home- plus I have 3 kids. McDonalds, Chick-fil-A and QT normally have clean bathrooms and are good for a drink. The drink, in turn, makes us have to go to the bathroom again!
Sherra, Here is the best tip of the day. Yes, I used to go into the fast food joints for restroom breaks, but at times found them, excuse me, quite nasty if you know what I mean. The best kept secret, on maybe not, is we now stop at motels (Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc) right off any interstate exchange and they usually have a restroom right near the lobby or breakfast area that is so so squeaky clean and empty, yahoo! The trick is to act like you are indeed staying there and just left and came back because you forgot to use the restroom in your own room before you left, if that makes sense. Works for me! First, let me say, I love random at least when I can understand it. Your ramblings I understand though I am afraid to admit that as perhaps it means I am loony without meds and should consider getting some!
I left a comment but didn’t shout out to my friend because I work really hard on a regular basis to let her know how much I adore her! I have done it so recently that we are even contemplating running away despite the fact that we have no money to do so! We are just both feeling like checking out of our reality for a while! I feel certain you get that! Right?
And yes, we totally go to the bathroom at various places and then make guilt purchases – not that we are forced to mind you because we are all usually eager for a beverage or snack! Again, judging by your posts when traveling, I think you get the eating thing as well!
Can’t wait to hear what caused this latest need for meds! You always have the best stories!
Diane » Good recommendations – we stop at the same places. I do try to avoid the drink purchases especially on long trips!
Cousin Dee » The hotel idea is good and keeps you away from guilt food purchases. You can ask if they have room availability after you use their facilities and then say, “Great let me go to talk to my crew in the car so we can make a decision” to feel less guilty. LOL
Tammy » I’m loony both ways if that makes you feel any better. Do you need the Apartment Guide or vacation recommendations? Yes, I get the eating thing which is why I think I’m going to stop at hotels now.
You are a blessing to everyone who reads your blog! You are the most entertaining blogger I have ever read! Many of us can relate to your stories and adventures!!!

Paula » Thanks for words of affirmation.
I might need to have a special weekend post to assure everyone I am okay, the family is okay, the wiener dogs are okay, etc. Me taking Xanax seems to have caused a bit of concern which now concerns me because no one seemed all that concerned when I was taking Valium. Did I use the word concern 3 times in one sentence? Does that mean the Xanax is still in my system? I’m FINE, I promise!! ROFL
