I VOTED for Kurt last week so I can’t be held responsible for the ignorance of other people voting for Bristol.
I used PhilBillPaul’s 5 votes as well. Our ten votes didn’t help.
I’m sooooooo bummed that he’s gone but I’m trying to move on. He is such a class act.
Now I’m all in for Team Kyle & Lacey. And I don’t even like Lacey.

My frivolous comments in dance order…
Brandy & Maks Chmerkovskiy – I’m just not in her fan club.
Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough – She won me back into her fan club.
Kyle Massey & Lacey Schwimmer – I am totally in his fan club.
Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas – Mark is a really good partner.
My personal favs are still:
- Jennifer & Derek
Kurt & AnnaSO SAD!!- Kyle & Lacey
Who were your favorites this week?

I am feeling bad this morning because I meant to vote last night (first time) called in, got a busy signal and then forgot. So if my favorites are booted off its ALL MY FAULT!
Okay not really.
On Facebook last night one of my FB friends posted for the first time in 5 months to remember to vote for Bristol Palin…mmmm…about my political views..I have them..yup I do but this is a dance competition.
If she wins….it won’t be pretty around here..for a few seconds..I mean lets put this in perspective.
So give Bristol credit for improving…but my favs are Jennifer and Kyle…Brandy..not a fan..sorry. Bristol..nice try ..past time to go..too bad they don’t have a wild card to get Kurt back.
Rambling as a form of avoidance to work…Jenn

Here’s the deal…..this is all about who calls. How many of those lame athletes have been in the finals and it was crazy that they were there? Emit Smith comes to mind (yes he was charming, but not the best dancer). Another one, Shawn Johnson! Giles was way better than her…it’s all about who calls. While I do like Bristol, I don’t think she should win, but certainly she could make it through this week! I think people are tired of “dancers” being on a dancing show that is for rookies. So, having said that, I agree with you on Kyle. Love the kid. Love him, and no dancing experience either, yet his popularity may not carry him through this week, where Bristol’s may. Don’t even get me started on Jennifer…..yes, she looks good, and I would pay to look like her, but I’m flat out tired of her…her injuries, and the fact that she is a DANCER (and since when was she ever a “MOVIE STAR”? Did I miss something..one movie?) I have always said that I wanted Maks and Brandy, but same holds true here…dancing experience. If it were up to me…it would be Kyle and Bristol in the final! There ya go!(PS, Kurt and Rick were both just ok themselves. Charisma, yes, talent, no…and their fan base just didn’t see ‘em thru!)
Okay, my husband is out-of-town so I had control of the remote last night and I watched DWTS for the first time this season. Keeping in mind that I haven’t followed all the dramas and traumas leading up to last night (no sorrows over who is gone vs. who should be or who has been a whinner vs. a winner) I offer the following latecomer perspective:
Brandy can dance, but just doesn’t have that special something that makes you want to like her on the dance floor. Her costumes last night just really didn’t add to the mood.
Jennifer, ummm, she’s got it. Costumes great, details taken care of, mood definitely there. Plus she’s 50. You get handicap points for that. Like Brandy she does have dance in her background and she really was an actress in two classic movies (don’t forget “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”).
Bristol seems like a person who you want to like but can’t. She just doesn’t know who she is. But she’s trying and she really doesn’t have any talent to take her there. And that is what the show is supposed to be about—taking an untalented sorta star and teaching them a new trick.
How can you not like Kyle??? He’s the kid everyone always laughs at and who you want to have at your party. Again, I don’t really see any skill there except the kind that every life-of-the-party person has. Since I’ve only seen one episode I don’t know how much he’s grown. Lacey worked really hard to make him look good—ditto for Mark with Bristol.
Who should go? Sorry Nancy, it’s Brandy. As to who should win I don’t know. I’ll have to sneak the remote away next week to see.
Sherra,
We are full of good ideas. Love you,
I have taken a vote with my friends here at college and we have all decided we are gonna respectfully ask that you cut the DWTS postings to once a month. None of us watch the show, so what are we supposed to read? Or another idea…if you do a DWTS posting you should do an additional one on an unrelated topic to appeal to all of your readers.
Lizzie
I KNOW how about a DWTS blog????????????
It will be interesting to see what happens tonight.I always go for the underdog and Bristol was that w/ no experience in front of the cameras or a large audience. (Republican convention doesn’t count)I agree that the public is tired of entertainers with “no dance” experience and that is why they are drawn to Bristol. Personally, I have not voted for her and am surprised she stays. The public likes humor and personality–she has neither on camera. Kyle does–I think he or Jennifer will win. I enjoyed the inside stories last night and like Brandy a little more, but not enough to put her in my top 2:)

Wow, what cheeky children you have, Sherra! As if your blog is not so well-peopled with prime-of-life women that you need to begin appealing to the college crowd??!! Children learn perseverance through hardship, and just one more week should be hardship enough. Then we can blog about the real stuff in life like wrinkle creams and post-motherhood retirement plans. I’ll look forward to Wizzy’s additions to those two rousing topics
Okay, everyone made me crack up with their comments so this is my blanket comment back before I watch who gets voted off tonight…
Jenn–Thanks for reminding us to keep it in perspective. We won’t blame you for not voting.
Nancy–I think I’m tired of “stars” not being stars on the show. Bristol qualifies on both fronts. I guess we can split hairs about dancers vs. stars but I love the people/stars/dancers who improve every week and entertain me – that’s why I watch. I didn’t know that the one dance movie Jennifer was in made her a dancer and I liked Ferris Bueller every bit as much as that little dance movie even if you don’t consider her a movie star. ROFL
Julieann–For a latecomer only watching one show, I think you nailed it. Does this mean I wasted the past 7-8 weeks and could have just watched one show? LOL
Lizzie–I’m flattered I have such a diverse readership and you college kids are not enjoying the show. Next week it’s all over and I’m hanging up my reviewer hat so you can all enjoy regular blog posts about all the things my darling children do that drive me crazy. Love you too darling daughter.
PhilBillPaul–I’m ignoring your comment.
Karen–I get hung up on the “stars” part of the show title and Bristol doesn’t qualify. Poor Kyle might not have had a dark enough inside story to pull through. I hope not. Just a happy, well-adjusted kid who had a mother who believed in him and his brother enough to take a chance and change their life. And I didn’t even know he was a Georgia boy from Atlanta until last night!!
Sherra, I’m sure you heard this story, but in case you didn’t, it’s worth your time!
