DWTS ~ No Props or Gimmicks?

So glad that no one relied on props or gimmicks to tell a story in the dance.

Like Chelsie shoving Jake in the King Tut tomb.

I had to rewind to beginning to hear them describe the challenge criteria for telling a story with the dance.

I really have a love/hate relationship with this show.

I’ll start with the love.

Loved Evan and Anna best.

Also really liked Errin and Maks. And Niecy and Louis. All three told a nice story with the dance with few props.

Lukewarm on Nicole and Derek, Chad and Cheryl and Aiden and Edyta.

Really disliked Jake and Chelsie and Pamela and Damien.

Hate Kate and Tony. Seriously…she’s not even dancing. But I’m glad she got a therapy acting session in so she could cry about the paparazzi following her. Excuse me, didn’t she sign up for exactly that?

Not sorry to see Buzz go though I would have much prefer Kate to go first.

Buzz and Ashly gets bonus points for the patriotic element (but not the dancing!). And he has excellent posture especially for his age! Very much like a statue.

Random observations…

How old is Charo? She looks amazing for being a senior! She should go to Kroger to get her discount. But she and that other blonde were scary together in rehearsal. The family show element really suffers when that other blonde dances. Just my opinion.

Jake is having real communication ego issues working with Chelsie. He’s feeling disrespected looking like a wussy. No big change from his persona on The Bachelor.

No one commented last week, so I might have to stop with my personal opinions. Easter/spring break busyness?

Because another week with Kate dancing means another week of really struggling to think of something nice to say.

Reminds me of that old saying…

If you don’t have anything nice to say, come sit here by me.” –unknown

So please do leave a comment (especially if you have nothing nice to say) and share with me your tips on how to endure watching Kate another week. Who the heck is voting for her???? :(

On a more positive note, I said I would try to think of another reason to watch Maks…I thought of one while watching last night.

Dancing a cowboy routine in jeans. Yee haw!

Okay..every time I watch the show I think of you!
First they voted off Shannon..BEFORE Kate..really makes me think this country is in SERIOUS trouble..forget health care and the economy…people think Kate can DANCE??..c’mon..I have no dance abilities but I could at least look like I was having fun.
I would much rather watch Buzz than Kate..sigh..maybe I need to get a life.
    I missed Charo…not sorry though.
I like the Ice Skater..memory is failing on his name.
And while Edtya has a great bod my nickname for her the last couple of years has been “no underwear woman” ( my husband loves her) ..seriously..one of these days we will see more than we want to.
She is one costume failure from making it the “playboy channel”
If Kate doesn’t get voted off next week I may have to stop watching or start recording it and fast forward through her..and for pete’s sake get Len some Prozac…I’m though ranting…for now.

One of my friends was watching and said, “Who votes for her (Kate)”? When her 8 year old daughter replied, “Her kids.” lol I don’t really watch this one, but have tuned in once or twice, very amusing.

The quote is “If you can’t say anything good about someone sit right here next to me!” ~Alice Roosevelt Longworth. A friend saw the plaque and bought it for me. Do you think I should be offended?

Absolutely embarrassed/ashamed for Kate. Please quit. Nothing good can come from this.

Fascinated by the dirty girl. Can’t help it.

I really don’t watch – but my husband does so I catch bits and pieces as I move in and out of the room. I did see on MSN yesterday that Jon Gosselin is suing Kate for full custody as she is an absentee mother now that she is on DWTS. Hmmmmm. I feel for those children.

I’m baffled to why people are voting for Kate. The first few seconds I thought the routine might have potential until I saw her horrible hair and makeup (usually they look FAB!) Then she started walking instead of dancing and it was all downhill. Maybe the judges will give her a score of 10 total and it will be over. With our luck,Tony will pull off a miracle and actually get her to DANCE and then we’ll be stuck w/ her for a few more weeks. At least the whiner Jake can dance a little! I didn’t watch the Bachelor but he’s showing another side-he’s darn lucky to have Cheslie as a partner in my book.
And to judge Len…sometimes you have to overlook the rules when you see that much creativity. Way too hard on Derek and Nicole.

I really enjoy your reviews of the DWTS episodes! Have you had an opportunity to see Jimmy Fallon’s version of Kate’s odd “dance”?

@Jenn–I’ve always referred to Edyta’s *costumes* as sparkly teeny weeny bikinis with lots of flowing scarves attached. LOL

@Peggy–Even if her kids are forced into a child labor phone room to cast their votes which I’m sure they are…who the heck are the other people voting for her????? I think we’re all being punked.

@martha–Thanks for quote attribution – I googled and everything. You, Mom and the dirty girl…it’s just WRONG. ;)

@Melodi–Really, the kids probably need a break from mom. Like Jon would ever be able to take care of those kids on his own. They are both a train wreck and they are the ones who put themselves out there for all of us to see. Icky, icky, icky.

@Karen–High five on that horrible hair and makeup. My mom and I discussed that very thing today. SCARY!! Tony cannot turn a sow’s ear into a silk purse. Ain’t happening. Len makes me laugh but maybe that’s because he is old and grouchy and is eligible for his Kroger discount?

@Susan–I’m going to have to google and find that! Odd, strange, weird…all descriptive words about whatever that was on Monday night.

Let me quote from the TH April 8th edition of USA Today:
Kate Gosselin is struggling as a hoofer on “Dancing with the Stars,” but she already has found her new calling: using her role as an “example mom” to help and learn from others. TLC announces plans today for the “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ star to get her own series, “Twist of Kate,” and to revisit her family life, without ex-husband Jon, in a series of “Kate Plus 8″ specials.

Gee, will she need to leave DWTS early to start filming?
