Don’t leave me hanging this week and make me think I’m the ONLY ONE watching this show.
Because I know that isn’t true.
Highest ratings accolades continue. I’m not sure if it’s highest ratings for a dance show? Monday night? Best on ABC? Best dance show with very few stars?
I also know that I have several readers who have actually confessed they don’t even watch the show but come to read my re-cap just to see who got voted off.
So I’ll re-cap again this week but if you leave me hanging with nary a comment, I’ll have to start reviewing one of the Bravo Housewives show and I know that could get ugly and exceed my PG-13 rating.
Side note: Nary is a funny word. I read it in a report I was proofing last week. So glad I found a way to use it here.
Back to the program…
Margaret Cho really tried hard but I wasn’t surprised she was let go. I would have preferred “The Situation” leaving but I guess we have to endure another week with him.

My frivolous comments in dance order…
Kurt Warner & Anna Trebunskaya – He just makes me smile when I watch him dance. Watching a guy his size dance and look graceful keeps me watching the show. And I’m glad it wasn’t raunchy. The judges’ scoring baffled me especially after their comments.
Brandy & Maks Chmerkovskiy – I would have liked to have seen Kurt do the choregraphy by Maks. Loved it but still just don’t love Brandy.
Rick Fox & Cheryl Burke – How did they get higher scores than Kurt and Anna with much harsher criticism? Liked it but I didn’t love it.
Kyle Massey & Lacey Schwimmer – Pretty non-descript. Can’t think of anything that stood out to even comment about.
The Situation & Karina Smirnoff – I just don’t want to watch “The Sich” anymore. Even if he does want to “do good” for Karina. I guess if it was the lift dance…oh wait those were bad too.
Florence Henderson & Corky Ballas – Mrs. Brady is a bit of wildcat. Very interesting and impressive especially for her age. The dance was awkward but their performance was funny and yet strange. Cannot believe her technical scores were higher than Kurt’s. Yes, I’m holding a grudge and think the first dance got the hardest judging.
Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough – Loved, loved, loved it!! Derek made her look like the professional dancer. Such great legs and they looked so good together! Well-deserved highest scores of the night!
Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas – Call me old-fashioned but I don’t want to see a 19 year old mom dance like that. Especially with her little sister in the audience. This dance exceeded the “ok for kids 10+” in my opinion. Broken record: HOW did she get higher technical scores than Kurt and Anna?????
Audrina Patridge & Tony Dovolani – She continues to do a nice job but her transition from receptionist 5 years ago (her own words) to being a top contender on DWTS is a little hard for me to embrace.
My personal favs are still the same but Rick & Cheryl are on shaky ground unless they really bring it next week:
- Jennifer & Derek
- Kurt & Anna
- Rick & Cheryl
Who were your favorites this week?

Okay..you are right, you are NOT the only watching DWTS. I tried to stay away but its like quick sand sucking me in.
Just for the record I have pretty much given up on TV since it is all violence or reality TV. I watched what I thought was a pretty “safe” show the other night. I think its called “No Ordinary Family” but the evil element gave me bad dreams …
(sorry I cannot spell nightmeres)
I did doze off a couple of times during DWTS since it had been a long day but I did notice a couple of things.
One: the theme music is starting to annoy me.
Two: I should have just stuck with watching the recap although I find Mrs. Brady rather entertaining and humorous since I think she really “gets” her role on this show.
Three” The “Situation ” just has to go…yuck. Glad Tony D finally got a decent partner..even though I have NO idea who she is or why she is on the show but he did deserve someone decent after putting up with Kate.
Last..I always have liked Cheryl but Jennifer and Derek are a joy to watch.
So yes Sherra you are not alone…although if the “Situation” doesn’t leave soon I may be having more nightmeres…or at least learn how to spell the word!
Jenn Ross recently posted..So which was it Trip to the ER or a great idea
No nightmares Jenn since he got voted off tonight!! I’m with you on your all your observations. Thanks for weighing in!
Ok I’m posting but only to say that I don’t watch the show. I’m not interested in the recap so usually as soon as I see your header – DWTS I hit my delete button. I’ll read your other posts but I’m REALLY not interested at all in this show. I don’t have control of any remote in my household so I only get to watch my shows when I DVR them and those consist of Criminal Minds, Law & Orders and the CSI shows. My hubby says I need to go back to school to become a criminologist but I really just enjoy watching the actors on those shows!
Have a wonderful week my friend.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate all comments dear! Sounds like you might need to get another TV at your house – I want you to have control of a remote!!
I cracked up when I read the sentence with ‘nary’ in it!!!! Still LOL at that AND fyi…I don’t watch that crazy dancing show at all!!! XO
I think we shan’t get in a discussion of what constitutes *crazy* shows. Too many opinions with nary an agreement to be had. Thanks for amusing me though.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen this show, but of course I read the recap. I mean, if you’ll commit to this recap, then there really isn’t a need to watch the show! ;0)
You’re informative AND funny…and I’m done in under 5 minutes!

If I can save just one person a little time…wow…my work here is done!! Thanks
Trenikaoops, I mean Teri.I cannot believe I am commenting on your comments about this stupid program! When the show first started, I thought it sounded like a fun concept, but then I recognized only 3 or 4 of the competitors. Stars? Uh, I don’t think so. And this is how it’s been every season. I did watch the last few weeks of the seasons that had Marie and Donnie Osmond ’cause I like them. This year I recognized Jennifer Gray, although I use the word loosely, as her current physicality bears little resemblance to her former younger self. And how can someone with a dance background like hers be allowed as a competitor? Of course she’s better than the others. I know Michael Bolton, David Hasselhoff, Margaret Cho, Brandy and Florence Henderson. And of course I recognize Bristol Palin, whose only claim to fame, as far as I can tell, is getting pregnant as a teenager and having a newly famous mother. Puhleeeze. The others I never heard of. I agree with Melinda that the theme music is excruciatingly annoying. The patter with the hosts, and the endless “recapping” from last week, from rehearsal, etc. is boring. I know I’m going to sound like a prude, but I think the skimpy costumes and overly sexy dance routines are inappropriate for a family show. So I can’t wait til you write about something else on Tuesdays!
I’m commenting to your comment about commenting because I value each and every reader! Also laughing because I got more reactions about people who don’t watch and the others who are watching are not revealing themselves. Go easy on Bristol – she is a “Teen Advocate” don’t you know? Brandy and Florence have some dance experience too so don’t hate on Jennifer for having a role as a dancer in a cult classic movie.
All in good fun Barb…hang in there and I promise I’ll soon write about something else on Tuesdays. My list of topics is endless and I can feel TV reviewer retirement coming soon. Or perhaps I’ll start another blog dedicated to bad TV – a friend and I have discussed that very thing!
