DWTS ~ Instant Dance

Five couples left and we’re heading to the finish line. For you non-watchers, I know that’s good news!

Was anyone else baffled by the “pick a song” from the mirror ball as if they were randomly selecting one of five songs? Oh, the suspense. But wait, their names were printed on the CD they picked. Either they were all amazing pickers or just one envelope was in the mirror ball.

Just a bit of weirdness I observed. Let’s rethink how to reveal the “surprise” song – they aren’t randomly picking. The producers assigned the song and revealed it to each couple after their first dance.

My frivolous comments in dance order…

Kyle Massey & Lacey Schwimmer – Their waltz was so good. He’s the underdog and has really shown how hard he’s been working. I hope they make it through.
Dance #2- In their jive, he just moved into the top three in my book. What an entertainer and I think he deserves to be in the top in all categories…no dance background, not an athlete – you can’t help have a big smile while you watch him.

Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough – Jennifer is a mess. Her injuries overshadow her hard work. I know it’s rough but even PhilBillPaul is now commenting that he doesn’t want to hear about it. I tried to defend her reminding him she is 50. He said “She’s not mountain climbing.” I said “I think this might be harder than mountain climbing.” Just sayin’
Dance #2 – Anybody who can do the splits at age 50 gets a special award. Holy cow! She’s still in it to win it!

Kurt Warner & Anna Trebunskaya – Who wouldn’t want to be his dance partner. And dance to The Eagles. As Carrie Ann said “I want him to be my Ken doll.” Yes, I agree. (What the heck was with the 8′s after all the praise? The judges are really bugging me now.)
Dance #2 – WHY are the judges so complimentary and then continue to give them 8′s??? They looked great and deserved 9′s for sure!

Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas – CAN. NOT. BELIEVE. she has made it this far. Sorry, I just think she’s been clunky and awkward and she hasn’t turned me into a fan the way Kyle has. Watching Mark’s hand go up her dress for a butt caress made me uncomfortable so I’m really not sure how her dad and younger sisters felt watching in the audience.* ICKY. Active teen or teen activist.
Dance #2 – I miss Florence and she wants her spot back. Len & Bruno gave them 8′s for that?? This show is rigged.

Brandy & Maks Chmerkovskiy – Beautiful dance. It’s no secret how much I like to look at Maks. What I don’t want to look at, discuss or know about is Maks’ underwear. I will say no more. (But I bet my friend Junebug noticed the same thing we did.)
Dance #2 – I was relieved to see Maks back in black pants. I loved the tension between Carrie Ann and Maks. Oh wait, what about Brandy? She is a great dancer but her background lends itself to these performances which gives her an unfair advantage.

My personal favs are still:

  • Jennifer & Derek
  • Kurt & Anna
  • Kyle & Lacey

I love, love, love Kurt and Anna!! And seeing his kids judge him last night was fun. I have been a Bristol fan all along but I think it is time for her to go. Others are just too good and have progressed so much more. Last night did it for me though, I am totally wanting Lacey and Kyle to win. He makes me smile just to watch him and I like that no matter how mean Lacey gets he just keeps on trying. I started out a big Jennifer fan but have slowly tired of her and last night with the “people love you” bit I was done. Now it’s all about Kyle and Lacey for me. And Kurt and Anna a close second.

I multi-task during DWTS-missed the name on the CD. Good catch. Kyle won me over last week when he had to imitate the Mel B dance. Jive was icing on the cake. Kyle or Kurt for the win! Kurt is getting robbed. He’s not quite as good sometimes but deserves a 9 or two! Bristol needs to leave this week. Sorry, I liked “the move’ but I like Mark and think he has been incredibly kind to her. Well my husband and PhilBillPaul think just alike. He only catches bits and pieces but thinks Jennifer has gone off the deep end. Since I’m the same age she has my sympathy and yikes on the split/balance move!
As for Maks and Carrie Ann-Whoa! I was with Carrie Ann–didn’t think the 2nd dance was that great.Maks is starting to bug me, and Brandy already does. Judges were too kind to them.

Okay…tried to stay awake for the final results and fell asleep I guess right before they announced them…argghhh..googled it this morning. WHAT??? Can’t believe Kurt got booted but I knew he was in trouble when Bristol was safe which is another WHAT???

C’mon..I want to slap those judges..Kurt and Anna did way better than Bristol..he deserved 9′s. If Bristol ends up in the finals I will forever not watch this.

Yes Jennifer has drama but I like her way better than Brandi..maybe because she is closer to my age…right now I would vote Kyle and Jennifer…thinking maybe Kyle should win just for the no drama…or Jennifer because..yes she gets mega points for the splits which I never could do anyways ( jealous)

Maybe I had better start voting…uh oh and I keep saying reality shows are ruining and already crappy TV schedule and now I am voting?? Going to the dark side…:)

I’m all in for Kyle now. I think we all need to use our votes in these last weeks. I’m trying not to spiral into depression about Kurt being voted off. :( He was such a class act and really personifies what the competition is about. NO dance experience, learning and improving every week. Now I have to cheer on Team Kyle for the same reasons and his entertainment factor!!
