You would be so proud of me. I walked into the at&t store fully knowing which phones I was going to get for myself and one of my daughters. Our contracts were up and there was a "Buy one get one free" deal on one of those fancy slide phones. We were excited! (My ancient flip phone was hanging by a wire.) Until the salesman (and he was good) found a slight hesitation and convinced me that the iphone was the same price and I would really be a cool mom. I have no idea how to operate one of those fancy iphones and I really don't want to be able to connect to my emails from any place. But somehow I managed to walk out of that store with a new iphone and my 12 year old son telling me he would teach how to use it. I do love it for texting and my son loves all the "apps." My children are trying to pull me into the technology age, but I'm going kicking and screaming.

Too funny! I am NOT a texting mom! I like my candy bar style phone that does not even take pictures!!! Every time I want to use it (once every other week) the battery is dead anyway! But then again my little guys aren't teenagers yet. There's that "yet" word!!! Maybe we'll all have gps/phone implants by the time they get to those years.

But I am totally into the facebook "fad" and would be crushed if it ended! I've already been able to apologize to 2 friends for my horrible actions in third grade and they still like me!!!

I learned two years ago that if I wanted to communicate with my children I had better grin and text it. It isn't that hard except that I am one of the Geeks who does not have a slide-out keyboard. In fact, I'm still using the same Nokia indestructible phone that I got at least 8 years ago. If they want to really confuse me my kids set it to a feature where it "anticipates" what I am going to type, which of course just makes it all the harder for me because I don't believe that a mere cellphone can anticipate my actual thoughts. Perhaps they have a parent variety that is prewired with things like, "Where r u?" and "If ur not home by 12 ur grounded." Now that would be useful technology.

I'm in! I think my girls text me more than call. Sometimes it's annoying but it is quick and easy. I actually wish that my parents (aged 77) were able to text or even accept pics from the phone but that just seems to be beyond them, although they do love e-mail and the internet!
