“All About Me”

Sometimes you need to schedule an “All About Me” day. It’s good for the soul.

It’s a favorite theme of mine because it’s easy to get lost in busy days and forget to take care of yourself when you are a woman taking care of other people.

We nurture – it’s our nature.

Please don’t ask PhilBillPaul about my nurturing tendencies right now. I’ve been a little distracted.

I’m soooo excited to finally get to share with you today about what I’ve been doing that has distracted me from being the warm, loving, nurturing mom and wife my family is so used to.

Excuse me. I hear some muffled laughter.

Okay, but let me remind you that in April I was in serious contention for
Wife of the Year…

Meanwhile, I’ve been very busy with my good friend and totally nurturing and loving wife and mom, Leigh Anne. She puts me to shame. Really, she does.

Together we’ve joined forces and created an actual business partnership! We’ve been working for months on a website that is very close to both of our hearts. We’ve spent many years as mothers and homebased business owners. Our favorite part has been working with women and creating connections and friendships through the years.

Now we get to bring that sense of community directly to you. I hope you’ll take a few minutes today and watch our short movie which will lead you to our new website and the story will unfold from there!

Also, don’t miss our fun summer cookbook with some of our favorite recipes that we put together just for girlfriends. It’s a full-color ebook you can download right to your computer and save the cost of shipping.
You’ll find it in our brand new shop.

Thanks for indulging me and letting me have an “All About Me” post today. It’s a big day filled with a real sense of accomplishment and celebration!

It would be a real blessing to me if you would pass the everywomanmovie.com link on to five women you know (whom I don’t know) to help us grow our new site.

Be sure to check back on the site in the coming days – we’re planning some fun giveaways that I want my friends (and their friends) to win! I can’t help it, I’m competitive. ;)

Life Lesson (LL): Dreaming big and working hard with a girlfriend makes the journey so much FUN!

Share a Life Lesson (SALL): Do you have a girlfriend who helps make everything more fun? Send her a big thank you right here in the comments and then send her the link. Tell her you thanked her publicly on the internet so the world can read it! Um, yeah, because the whole world reads my blog. Okay, it would still be a nice thank you…

Since you’re giving out the opportunity, I want to publicly thank my friend Chayna for being one of those girlfriends. It doesn’t matter if we’re just hanging out, working on a project or she’s helping me remove the body of my deceased 80 pound dog from the house. There is always laughter and a story for later. I know she’s there even when she has 100 other things going on. She’ll tell you how it is – straight up. Even when you don’t want to see reality. She knows when to be easy on you and when you need a good slap up the side of your head (figuratively speaking of course). So… THANK YOU CHAYNA for being you!

Congratulations I know this has been a labor of love and I can’t wait to see all it brings to your life. Just so you know I sent out the movie link to all my favorite girlfriends – even if they already read this page just in case they missed today’s post! I wish you and Leigh Anne all the best in this new venture!

Joanne » That’s the kind of girlfriend everyone needs – I love your description of her and Chayna has a cool name too! I, too, love a friend who “tells you how it is” and makes you laugh. I want to meet her!!

Tammy » Thanks! I’m so excited to actually get the site going after so many months and thanks too for spreading the word for us. I appreciate YOU!!

Somehow getting over here to the actual blog to leave a message just didn’t happen. I want to give a public thank you to my friend, Nancy, who’s always there for me. I remember the day we met, I said to myself, “Now here’s a gal that’s a real go-getter,” and I immediately called to ask her to be public relations for the Mental health Association of which I was President at the time. She resisted, but I told her how easy it was to do news releases, etc. This led to her writing a column for teenagers in our local paper and eventually publishing a book called, “FYI”. Years later, I thought that instead of doing monthly fundraisers, we should start a non-profit business – an upscale consignment shop – to benefit a mental health agency. In her always enthusiastic way, Nancy said, “Just think…instead of doing it to benefit ONE agency, what if we did it for TEN?” Think of the volunteers we could get, etc. We did it…and it has taken on a life of its own, profitable beyond our wildest dreams. We’re still after all these years in almost daily contact. I cherish her enthusiasm and energy, which know no bounds. Having a younger friend like Nancy keeps me young, too.

Congrats on this new site! Wishing you and Leigh Anne all the best with this. What an exciting venture for you both. I will look forward to hearing and seeing what you have to offer and I’ll be expecting great things with all the talent between the two of you! :) I’ll spread the word.

Joan » Thanks for clicking over to the site – the email subscription is so nice and convenient so I understand! What a great friend Nancy is!!! I hope you sent her over here or sent her a copy of your lovely words about her. Where do we find her book?!

Karen » I appreciate your kind words and thanks for spreading the word!

Hey Meredith…let’s have some fun together! We’ve been apart for years, but there has been no replacement for you…I have just been alone with the husband and two children and long for a girlfriend. You are perfect for me in every way and I so enjoy the few times a year we talk (can’t believe I’ve said those words) and the fewer times we’ve seen one another. I’ve still not met the latest addition…how shameful. However, I know we have great lives and are truly blessed beyond measure and I shouldn’t complain about missing you and I never have…until now! I miss you so very much! You make the world a better place, and you certainly have always made my days brighter!

Hi Sherra,

I met you, ever so briefly, at the KikaPaprika Runway in July. I finally found a moment to check out your site. Actually, I’m having a show tomorrow and was looking for some inspiration for an ice breaker. Thanks so much for making me laugh. Laughing is my favorite thing to do!

Moira » So glad you stopped by…Laughing is my favorite thing too!! ;)

ivey » What a great message to your friend. I hope you called her and put her on your calendar…in INK!!

Today's Deep Thought

  • Basically, there are three ways the skunk and I are a lot alike. The first is, we both like to spread our "stink" around. The second is we both get hit by cars a lot. The third is stripes.
