Alive & Overwhelmed…

I am alive…

I am well…

I am overwhelmed…

I am “well” is relative in terms of allergy season in the south. The pollen count is off the charts and some of us can barely walk outside to get the mail without serious side effects–even with meds!

I am “overwhelmed” as in managing a house of six can really reduce me to a raving lunatic–even with Valium (but I haven’t taken one today thank you very much)!

I’m off to an author event at Borders for a much-needed girlfriend night out. I’ll report back on Friday and tell you about the author, the books she has written that I love and any new, exciting things I learn by listening to her!

P.S. My email subscription and RSS feed service seems to have abandoned me and my site. (sob). I’m looking into changing services. Thank you all for your patience while I work to fix the problem.

I can relate!
What is it about the end of the school year that totally throws the “normal” into a tailspin. The other night all three of our children had to be at different places at the same time.
Finals are coming and my high school freshman is turning me into a raving lunatic!
Q: Why do I care about her grades more than she does???
A:Probably cause I have to pay for summer school and the $54 Health book she lost.
Glad she is about to be old enough to get a job.

Have fun tonight. Can’t wait to hear about the book.

I am really missing my e-mail subscription. Keep forgetting to check for the new posts so I’m reading this one a week late. I KNOW you enjoyed the night out and I’m always glad to get a new author recommendation. Thanks for the tip. I’ll see if I can get’em from the library though. I’ve already given so many books to the kid’s media center at school that hubby has threatened to leave me if I buy anymore! There’s no more room to store them. I keep telling him to just build us a bigger house but for some reason he doesn’t think books deserve a new house. Guess we might could afford it better too IF I cut back, huh? LOL

Melinda » There is no such thing as too many books :) Re-gift and pass them on to friends if you run out of room!

Today's Deep Thought

  • Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the person's house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of its head with a note that says "you." after that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done.
